How to Write Video Scripts With ChatGPT (Without Sounding Like a Robot)

AI scripts fail for one reason: they're published as first drafts. This workflow treats AI output as raw material, not a finished script.
Step 1: Hook first, alone
Prompt: "Give me 10 opening lines for a video about [topic] for [audience]. Each under 12 words, each making a specific promise or asking a question the viewer can't ignore." Pick one. Write nothing else yet.
Step 2: Outline, not prose
Ask for a beat-by-beat outline with one idea per beat. You approve the structure before any sentences exist.
Step 3: Draft short
Ask for the draft at 120 words per minute of target length, in short spoken sentences. Long written sentences die when spoken aloud.
Step 4: The human pass (non-negotiable)
Read it out loud. Everywhere you stumble, rewrite in your own words. Add one specific detail only a human would know — a real moment, a real number, a real mistake. That detail is the difference between content and slop.
